11 ANNUAL CLUB CHALLENGE Sept. 2008
 

Flounder, King Mackerel Tournament

 

Registrations:  Friday September 5th, 2008        

 

There will be two registration sites this year.  Holden Beach Marina, Holden Beach, NC and the Oak Island VFW 50th St. SE Oak Island, NC

 

Contestants can register at either site for whatever club they represent.

 

The hours at both sites will be from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm with Hamburgers and Hot Dogs served at both sites.

 

We are hopeful this arrangement will reduce travel time and expense for all.  The Oak Island registration will be in conjunction with the Oak Island Fishing Club monthly meeting.

 

Entry Fee $100.00 per boat, each boat eligible to fish for both species for one entry fee.

 

$50.00 and $100.00 TWT’s and individual awards for each species.  Perpetual Trophy awarded to top club in each division.

 

Competition Day:  Saturday September 6th.  Lines in at 7:00 am, Boats must be in weigh-in line by 4:00 pm.

 

Weigh-in: : Southport Marina, Southport, NC 

 

NOTE: All Flounder brought to the scales alive will be awarded 10% bonus points.  All flounder go to the South Brunswick High Aquaculture program. All king mackerel weighed go to LBARA.

 

Awards:   Saturday September 6th,  OAK ISLAND VFW.  Cook out starts at 6:00 pm.

 Bar-B-Que Pork and Chicken.

 

Awards at 7:30 PM or there abouts.

 

All proceeds to benefit our local fishery through the Long Bay Artificial Reef Association.

By signing this entry form, the Captain releases the LBARA; its’ officers, sponsors, host and affiliates from any loss, injury or damage, which may result from participation in this event.  All Captains are required to sign entry as a certification that they have read and agreed to abide by rules included herein.  No unsigned entries will be honored or accepted.

 

Rules:

  1. The five largest fish of each species per CLUB OR TEAM will determine the overall challenge winner.
  2. All fish requested from each boat will be weighed, BUT a maximum of three will count towards club points.
  3. No fishing will be permitted at the CP&L Wall located on the West side of the Cape Fear River at marker # 23.
  4. One individual prize per species per boat.
  5. No checkout, Lines in at 7:00 am.  Boats must be in weigh in line @ 4:00pm Southport Marina.
  6. NO CHEATING.  God’s watching.
  7. PROTEST PROCEDURE.

a. All protests must be accompanied by a 12 pack of fine Pilsner Beer or acceptable substitute.

b. Following consumption of protest fee the rules committee will make cleeaar decision.

c. Committee decision may be protested, see rules 7a and 7b.
