LBARA Club Challenge 2008 has
been CANCELED for
this year.
Dear
Loyal Supporters,
It is with deep regret that I inform you of the
cancellation
of the
Club Challenge originally scheduled for September 5th and 6th
2008.
Due to personal and family illness along with some relocation
problems to key members of the tournament committee, we have not
been able to devote the time necessary for the event. We are only
interested in the type of event we have all enjoyed in the past.
These circumstances foremost, along with the present day economy
lead us to decide this is the best decision.
This does not in any way mean the organization is becoming
inactive. Just some bad circumstances that need time to cure.
Actual deployment of 3 million pounds of concrete pipe and manhole
boxes started August 6th, 2008 with 220 pieces of pipe deployed on
AR 445. This material is stored at the NC State Port in
Wilmington, NC and deployed by the NCDMF Artificial Reef Group.
The primary sites for this project are AR-445 Dale McDowell Reef
and AR-455 Dale Ward Reef. The bad weather back up sites are
AR-420McGlammery Reef and AR-425 Yaupon Reef. This project is
expected to last 6/8 weeks weather permitting.
We intend to replenish our stock of pipe this winter in order to
be ready for next spring deployment. Thank you very much for
your support in the past and in the future.
Good Fishing.

Bob Black, Project Coordinator
