Karen and I (Karen
is my girlfriend and a great fishing partner)
fished at
Lake Norman on January 14, 2012 and let's just call it real practice for spring kings.
Karen and I set our lines around a bunch of diving and feeding Lake Norman gulls.
We trolled for a while before we got the 1st striper and it was about 6 lbs.
Then not too long, we got another then 1 more, but it was not a keeper. Can you
believe it, Karen got all of the fish. Karen caught 5 keepers, she got two at at time one rod.
I fish double baits, the stripers were about 7 lbs each, then her biggest one was around 10 lbs and
it measured 29" long. We both had lots of fun, and we fish most weekends for stripers.
Its just like live bait fishing for king mackerel at the coast, but lots
warmer down there
