The Charlotte Offshore Sportfishing Club is a nonprofit family organization
with a current membership of 100 plus families. The membership has the
common interest of saltwater fishing  inshore, onshore, & offshore in the
coastal waters of North & South Carolina. Monthly meetings are held that
provide the attending membership the opportunity to hear featured speakers
on topics of special interest for saltwater fishermen.  Meetings also provide an
opportunity for fellowship and camaraderie with the many friends that enjoy
speaking about saltwater fishing. Members are eager to share their
recent experiences, plus share the places and techniques.

A Hands on Workshop meeting is also held monthly.
(the Monday following the regular Wed. monthly meeting)

The Workshop meeting is held at the exact same place and time
as the regular monthly meeting
. Experienced club members
put on a “Back to Basics”.  This is a “hands on” open forum
instructing attendees where, when, and how to fish the Carolinas salt water.

This Website will have each months News Letter updated a week before the
regular meeting, plus the News Letter can be mailed to members upon request.
A few additional topics of major interest to the COSFC membership are;
marine conservation, assisting in the building of artificial reefs (the club donates
a substantial amount of $$ to the Long Bay Artificial Reef Association each year),
promoting safety on the water, plus providing input to our legislators on certain
critical fishing conservation issues.

 Monthly and Award Meetings
The members meet the second (2nd) Wed. of each month at The Captains Galley
11032 East Independence Boulevard Matthews NC. The fellowship begins @
6:30 pm and the meeting proper begins at 7:00 pm.  Visitors are always
welcome to attend the meetings. A raffle is conducted (items of use to saltwater
fishermen) with  the proceeds going to the club fund, which makes its way as a
donation to the Reef Fund.

A special Awards Presentation is held at the Dec. meeting to award plaques to the
winners of the Yearly Inner Club Tournament for the largest fish caught in specific
categories. (I.E. flounder, king mackerel, grouper, black sea bass, tuna, dolphin,
wahoo, cobia, billfish, Spanish mackerel etc.)

 How may join you  COSFC?
Anyone interested in saltwater fishing and being with people, who like to
share their experiences, and learn more about fishing, should join COSFC.
The annual dues are $60.00, which includes your immediate family.

You may join by coming to a meeting and simply filling out a membership
application/renewal form right there at the meeting or you can mail it in along
with a check for the appropriate dues( see prorating table below) to the COSFC treasurer:

See Treasurers address below.

The Club's Fiscal year runs from January to December. $60.00 yearly dues are due
1/01/ for each club member.  New members joining after 1/01 will pay by the
quarter of the
year  in which you join.  For example, dues paid in the first  quarter of the year are $60.00;
$40 the second; $30 the third; and $20 the last.  All full year dues are due in January.

Please, when filling out the  On Line Membership Application  (also available at meeting)
please remember to include your boat name and your VHF radio “handle”. (COSFC members
