The Charlotte
Saltwater Sportfishing Club is a nonprofit family
organization
with a current membership of 25 plus families. Club members,
consisting
of fly fishermen, kayak fishermen, surf fishermen, pier fishermen
and boat fishermen,
often like to share experiences and possibly learn a bit more about
fishing in saltwater.
On the 2nd Tuesday of each month (starting Jan. 2013), a monthly
meeting
of Charlotte Saltwater Sportfishing Club is held at The Captains
Galley,
11032 East Independence Blvd. Matthews NC.
A social time starting around 6:30 is when members exchange
stories and talk about their saltwater trips and whatever topics
come up, all
while enjoying dinner from a great menu selection
or the buffet located in the meeting room. Meetings do provide an
opportunity for fellowship
and camaraderie with the many friends that enjoy
talking about saltwater fishing.
A brief business meeting begins at 7:00 and the raffle is concluded,
then followed by the program which may be, a guest speaker for the
month
or a "hands on workshop" session devoted to member requested fishing
topics.
Charlotte Saltwater Sportfishing Club is open to everyone who enjoys
fishing
in the saltwater. Each month, our President (TW McPherson), writes
the
Club Talk New Letter, which tells us what the next months program
will be and other information about current club news. This News
Letter is posted on the club website (cosfc.com)
on the
Club Talk page.
Please surf our web site to find out more about our club and,
please come join us at our next meeting. For answers to any
questions,
please use the
Contact
Us Page and the Comments window.

Hall Of Fame
Charlotte Saltwater Sportfishing Club's
Hall Of Fame
The first person selected for this recognition is Jesse Alexander.
Jesse was elected on Dec. 10, 2008 as COSFC's first Hall Of Famer.
Jesse's longevity and perfect attendance at the monthly meetings is
commendable along with the services he provided in serving as
Treasurer for many of COSFC's presidents. Jesse is a gracious
supporter of Charlotte
Saltwater Sportfishing Club.
Jesse is a saltwater fisherman and eagerly shares his skills and
knowledge through his "how to" presentations at Workshop meetings as
well as making presentations at the regular meetings. AS a
Hall Of Fame member, Jesse is awarded a Lifetime Membership, dues
paid in full.
Congratulations Jesse!!!

Hands on Workshop
meetings
are also held during the year
when there is no guest speaker committed This is a “hands on”
open forum
instructing attendees where,
when, and
how to fish the Carolinas salt water.
This Website will have each months Club
Talk-News Letter
updated before the
regular meeting, this is available on the Club-Talk Page.
A few additional
topics of major interest to the CSSC membership are;
marine conservation, assisting in the
building of artificial reefs (the club donates
a
substantial amount of $$ to the Long Bay Artificial Reef Association
each year),
promoting safety on the water, plus providing input to our legislators on certain
critical fishing
conservation issues.
Monthly and Award Meetings
The members meet the second (2nd) Tuesday of each month at The Captains
Galley
11032 East Independence Boulevard Matthews NC. The fellowship begins
@
6:30 pm and the meeting proper begins at 7:00 pm. Visitors are
always
welcome to attend the meetings. A raffle is conducted (items of use
to saltwater
fishermen) with the proceeds going to the club fund,
which makes its way as a
donation to the Reef Fund.
A
special Awards Presentation is held at the Dec. meeting to award
